What's In A Name?

Shakespeare may have said it best. But, when it comes to choosing a name for your four-legged friend you have several options. Whether going for something classic like Rose, Jack, Lola, or Max or giving your furry friend a more human name like Charlie, Oliver, Roxie or Lucy picking a name for your pup is fun for the whole family.
Some people choose to go with a name that lines up with their pooch’s heritage and pays homage to their origin country; Scotty the Scottish Terrier or Hans the German Shepherd. Others plan ahead for multiple dogs to be able to name their pair after famous duos or saying like Bonnie and Clyde or Sugar and Spice. Maybe you like something a little more humorous like Shorty for a Dachshund, something ironic like Tiny for a Mastiff, or meaningful like Lucky for a rescue dog.
Just remember to pick a name that your dog can recognize easily and that you won’t mind saying over and over during their puppy training phase. There’s nothing like having to repeat Killer or Scooby-Doo a million times while trying to potty train! Also, consider choosing something unique, calling out our #1 name on our list at the dog park may have several pups running your way!
So have fun with it, be creative, but above all else, you’re going to love this dog for a long time, so choose a name that you love just as much. Remember, you won’t be nearly as judged for naming your dog Judge as you would a child. And if all else fails, you can always post a poll on Facebook and let the world decide.
